Protecting your organisation's network from a range of threats relies on stringent security measures. Strong email defence systems are crucial as most cyber threats are received by email. MailProtect harnesses the strength of market-leading technologies to offer round-the-clock protection against email-borne viruses that can quickly infect connected devices and network servers. It also protects against malware, fraud and phishing, as well as filtering general spam and unwanted bulk mail.
MailProtect offers a hosted 'software as a service' sophisticated email filtering system that removes the need to manage complex, locally installed software, and its typically costly hardware, freeing technical staff to undertake other essential work. The service aims to provide a relatively 'low footprint' and unobtrusive solution for your organisation. It is designed to be a virtually 'fit and forget' solution that naturally evolves in response to global threats without placing constant demands on the users.
MailProtect comes with a set of features designed to let your organisation exercise a high degree of control over blocked emails and overall system management, whilst benefiting from a service partner experienced in enterprise-scale email delivery and security.
The MailProtect website is designed to give staff users access to the email filtering system. This is needed in case legitimate emails get trapped in the spam filter, email users will be able to view their own blocked emails and release those that are appropriate.
The URL for the website is https://mailprotect.adept.education
If you are an LGfL customer, the site can be found at https://mailprotect.lgfl.org.uk
Please note: this website cannot currently be accessed by users in schools operating their own mail servers (with the exception of administrators) or pupils at any establishment. However, system administrators can see logs relating to pupil emails and release messages for them as required.
Every user can and should subscribe to a spam digest. This is an email notification that will be sent to the user each time messages are trapped in the spam filter.
To switch on the spam digests, please visit the Address Settings page and tick the option to "Enable daily spam report".
Users have the ability to log in and view all emails that have been sent to and from all email addresses associated with them.
Users can:
•View logs for all addresses belonging to them
•Release messages blocked as spam/bulk
•Release messages blocked due to image scan
•Release messages blocked due to rude word scan
•Preview messages (but NOT attachments)
•Manage their personal "allow" list
•Manage their personal "reject" list
If users in such establishments wish to receive spam digests, they can only do so by sending an email to AdEPT Education.
To enable spam digests for an individual user, that user must email digests@atomwide.com and enter the following in the subject line of the email: Enable spam digests.
Digests will then be sent to the requesting individual and they can release blocked emails from these.
To disable spam digests if enabled, the user must email digests@atomwide.com and enter the following in the subject line of the email: Disable spam digests.
Under these circumstances users do not have the ability to log in to the MailProtect website.
More functionality is available to users who have administration rights. This role will either be called Mail Domain Administrator or MailProtect Administrator.
Administrators can log in and see a log of all emails sent to and from everyone in the establishment and release any legitimate messages that were trapped in the spam filter on behalf of other email users.
Administrators can:
•View logs for all addresses in all domains owned by the establishment
•Release messages blocked as spam/bulk
•Release messages blocked due to image scan
•Release messages blocked due to rude word scan
•Preview messages
•Preview attachments
•Manage an "allow" list for their domain
